Race report by Mickael Brandt
The 4th race of the Middle Swedish Electric car Cup, the largest indoor series in Sweden, was run in Falun who is famous for hosting the FIS World Championships in cross country skiing last year. The track is not permanent but the Falun crew had done a great job making a really fun track to race at.

I had decided to run both F1 and 1:12 stock, which might not have been the smartest to do, one class is enough when you don't have time to prepare enough. But as it turned out my 1:12 car was pretty much dialled from the start so the practice went all right but since one of my transponders got broken I didn't get a time for the final practice but it felt good and I got seeded in the top heat. Also doing good with their X12s was Hans Lyxell and Magnus Hedlund.

The only thing I changed on my car for the first qualification was for harder rear tyres and I increased the amount of tire additive in the front, this made the car faster and I managed to do the fastest run, being the only one doing 48 laps. Although the grip level was still coming up I decided to increase the amount of tyre additive even more in the front and this made me go even faster and this time I was the only one doing 49 laps. But a steadily improving Magnus started to go fast again. For the final qualification I only geared down a bit to see if it would make the car quicker in the infield but my driving was really bad so after 3 laps I crashed quite hard and had to pull off. The only thing I could do now was to see when Magnus was driving really well but hoping it wasn't good enough to take TQ from me. In the end I was TQ by less than a tenth of a second. This made the settings for the finals quite interesting since we was doing pretty much the same laptimes although it felt like I had a small advantage. Also doing fast laptimes was Hans Lyxell but having tough luck meant he had to settle for 4th place.

The first final started off ok, I took the lead but had Magnus just behind me and after a couple of minutes I made a mistake that let him by, I tried my best to follow and overtake him but we where so evenly matched on speed and when trying to really pressure him I crashed and had to settle for 7th place. Not a good start!

The second final started quite nervous so again I made a small mistake and let Magnus by. Again I put pressure on him and this time he made a mistake and went of the track and this made me get the lead of almost a half lap that I easily could hold the rest of the final.

Going in to the last final I had to win it to win the race. This time I had put to much tyre additive on so my car was really edgy and I let Magnus by while my car was on two wheels. As the final went along my car got better and better and I could again put some pressure on Magnus and again he made a mistake that opened up for me, when trying to recover he hit me while I was going by him but he came off even worse than me so I got by and had only to keep him behind me safely for the last minute which I managed to do. In the end we was pretty much on the same speed but I managed to make the best of it by TQ-ing and winning two finals. In third place driving better and better during the day was Hans Lyxell. Hans TQed the F1 class in front of me and he also won it although I took the lead and was in the lead when I lost my pinion halfway in to the final.

During the day I only change the amount of tire additive on the front tires but I would have liked to try some thicker oil in the side tubes but the time schedule didn't allow me this since I was also racing F1 and the car was really good to drive but one always want more:)
